Should you replace or reface cabinets

Here you have to ask yourself the age old question while updating your bathroom or kitchen speaking of cabinets. Should I replace or reface cabinets? Does the answer appear easy?

The main reason you would want to reface cabinets instead of replacing them would be the cost. But how much do you truly save at the expense of living with inferiorly working interiors and drawers. Needless to say the inferior work flow design of your present kitchen, and if are speaking about bathrooms, the low height of the regular vanities that put the back of taller people under strain.

Well, the reality is you will just save almost one third of the cost through cabinet refacing kitchen. Don’t believe the people that tell you that it will be 50 percent savings as they are most possibly installing factory cabinets that come with a large markup of 100 percent or more.

Being someone who has done many kitchen refacing and new installations, I can tell you that you will surely get more benefits from a new one in respect to a reface. A reface is what the name implies, a reface.  Some of these cabinets have glue failing on the face frames or simply the general construction is failing all together.

Therefore, the conclusion to the age old question should you reface or replace, keep in mind that you are just saving one third or less. However, you may be stuck with the same old issues and headaches you always faced in your old kitchen. It appears that the choice is apparent unless obviously you are not going to use the kitchen on your own. But wouldn’t you want to get a bit more by giving a bit extra to your tenants? You have to decide that yourself.
